Billing FAQs

When will I be charged?

For monthly subscription users

If you signed up to a paid Narrative plan on the 5th day of a month then your billing cycle will always start on the 5th of each month. Narrative will take your payment on this date.

For yearly subscription users

If you signed up to a paid Narrative plan on the 20th of June then your billing cycle will always start on the 20th of June each year. Narrative will take your payment on this date.

What happens if I change my plan midway through my subscription?

If you change your Narrative subscription partway through your billing cycle, don't worry, we’ve got you covered. Narrative will pro-rate the unused portion of your current plan and apply it as a credit toward your new subscription.

How this works depends on whether you're upgrading, downgrading, or switching between Monthly or Annual billing periods.

Switching from Monthly to Annual

Let’s say you're on the Standard Monthly plan, billed at $29 USD on the 1st of each month.

If you upgrade to the Standard Annual plan ($240 USD/year) exactly halfway through your billing cycle (e.g., April 15), you’ll receive a $14.50 USD credit for the unused portion of your monthly plan. That credit will be automatically applied to your new annual plan.

Switching from Annual to Monthly

If you're on the Standard Annual plan ($240 USD/year, billed January 1st), and you switch to the Standard Monthly plan halfway through the year (e.g., July 1), you’ll get a $120 USD credit for the unused half of your annual plan. This credit will be applied toward your new monthly payments.

Upgrading to a Higher Plan

If you're on the Standard Annual plan ($240 USD/year) and decide to upgrade to Premium Annual ($480 USD/year) halfway through (e.g., July 1), you’ll get a $120 USD credit for the remaining time on your current plan. That means you'll only be charged $360 USD for the Premium Annual upgrade.

Downgrading to a Lower Plan

Let’s say you're on the Standard Annual plan ($240 USD/year, billed January 1st) and you downgrade to the Lite Annual plan ($120 USD/year) exactly halfway through the year (e.g., July 1). You'll get $120 USD credit for the remaining time on your current plan.

Which payment methods do you accept?

We currently accept Visa, MasterCard credit and debit cards, Maestro, JCB, as well as American Express credit cards.

All payments are billed in USD.

What's the difference between the yearly and the monthly subscription?

The annual subscription is paid once per year. Your first payment will be made when you upgrade your Narrative plan. Following payments will be made annually on your billing anniversary.

The monthly subscriptions are paid once per calendar month on your billing anniversary.

I canceled early and lost access to my Plans features - what happened?

With our current system, canceling your subscription early automatically cancels your subscription, and any remaining credit is added to your account.

If you'd like to reactivate your subscription until the original end date, please contact our Support team using the chat bubble in the bottom right corner.

What is your refund policy?

If you change your plan or cancel, our system will automatically pro-rate your subscription charges. As a default, any amount in credit is added to your account and will apply to future invoices.

If you cancel your subscription within 14 days of purchasing, you can contact support to request a refund instead. You can get in contact through the chat in the bottom right or via email to [email protected].
