What should I do if my Narrative payment is overdue?

Pay an overdue Narrative or Publish payment by updating your card, before your account is suspended after three failed tries.

Written by Ashton Smith

Your Narrative payment is overdue when we haven't been able to take your renewal payment. When your plan renews, we try to charge your card up to three times over seven days. If the payment still hasn't gone through after the third try, your account is suspended until it's paid, so it's best to sort it out as soon as you can. Learn why accounts are suspended.

Why is my Narrative payment overdue?

A Narrative payment is usually overdue because your card was declined or has expired. Your bank may also have blocked the payment.

How do I pay an overdue payment?

To pay an overdue payment, update the card on your account:

  1. Click Subscriptions on the left.

  2. Click Change Card to replace your card, or Add Card to add a new one.

If Narrative asks you to update your payment details, you can also click Update Payment Details in the app.

When you add a new card, we try the overdue payment again straight away. Check your invoice shows as paid in Subscriptions. Learn how to add or change your card.

What if my payment still doesn't go through?

If your payment still fails, check with your bank that your card allows online, international and subscription payments. Learn what to do if your payment method is failing.

If you've updated your card but the payment hasn't been taken, contact us through the chat bubble or at [email protected] and our team can take it for you. Tell us your account email. Never send your full card details.

What if the overdue payment is for Publish?

Publish is a separate app with its own subscription. If your Publish payment is overdue, your published blog posts aren't live and you can't use all of Publish until it's paid.
