Delete or unpublish a Publish post

Learn the difference between unpublishing and deleting a Publish post, and how to delete one.

Written by Ashton Smith

You can delete a Publish post from the All Posts screen once it's unpublished. Unpublishing and deleting are different:

  • Unpublishing takes your post off your website, but keeps it in Publish so you can publish it again.

  • Deleting removes an unpublished post from Publish.

What should I check before deleting a post?

Before you delete a post, keep your original photos and any backups or exports you need. If you only want your post off your website, unpublishing is enough, and you don't need to delete it. Unpublishing also frees up space on your plan to publish another post.

How do I delete a post?

To delete a post, follow these steps.

  1. If your post is published, unpublish it first. It will stop showing on your website.

  2. In Publish, go to the All Posts screen and find your post.

  3. Right-click the post, or click its three dots, then click Delete.

  4. Confirm that you want to delete it.

The Delete option is available for an unpublished post on the Publish home screen.

Your post is removed from the All Posts screen. This doesn't remove the page from your website, so delete or update that page on your website yourself.

What if I deleted the wrong post?

If you deleted the wrong post, contact us straight away through the chat bubble or at [email protected] with your account email and the post title. We can only restore deleted posts for a short time, and we can't promise we'll get it back. You may need your original photos to publish it again.
