If some or all of your photos don't show up in Lightroom after you ship from Narrative, it's usually because of a filter, a subfolder, photos that are already in the catalog, or photos Narrative can't find. Start with the section that matches what you see.
What if only some of my photos show up?
If Lightroom shows fewer photos than you shipped, check these in order:
In Narrative's Ship + Edit window, check the number of photos and the rating you chose to ship.
In Lightroom's import window, wait for all your photos to load before you click Import. This matters most with big shoots.
If your photos are in subfolders, turn on Include Subfolders.
Check whether Don't Import Suspected Duplicates is on. If it is, Lightroom skips photos it thinks are already in the catalog.
Before you turn that off, check whether the photos really are already in your catalog. If they are, you don't need to import them again. To update their ratings or AI Preset, sync their metadata instead.
What if none of my photos show up?
If none of your photos show up, Narrative may not be able to find them.
Check the drive with your photos is connected.
If your photos are in iCloud, OneDrive or another cloud service, download them to your computer first.
If you've moved or renamed the folder, go to File → Change Source Folder... in Narrative and choose the folder your photos are in now.
Update Narrative and Lightroom to their latest versions.
What if Lightroom's import window doesn't open?
If the import window doesn't open, try this for your computer:
Mac: if Narrative is switching catalogs, let it finish closing and reopening Lightroom. If Lightroom's import window was already open, close it and ship again.
Windows: open the catalog you want in the Library module, then drag the whole folder Narrative shows you onto Lightroom. Learn how to ship on Windows.
If you see a "Sorry, something went wrong" message, see “Sorry, something went wrong” when shipping with an AI Preset.
Is there another way to get my photos into Lightroom?
If Ship + Edit still isn't working, you can get your photos into Lightroom another way.
Drag and drop (Mac): filter to your selected photos in Narrative and press ⌘A. Drag them from the filmstrip into Lightroom's Library module. Make sure Lightroom's import window isn't already open.
Copy or move them to a new folder: select your photos and go to File → Copy Files... or File → Move Files.... Or, in the Ship + Edit window, turn on Move or copy files and click Browse to choose a folder. Then import that folder in Lightroom.
Keep the XMP files (small sidecar files that hold your ratings) in the same folder as your photos.
What if my photos are in Lightroom but the ratings are wrong?
If your photos are already in Lightroom but show old ratings or edits, sync their metadata. Reading metadata can replace edits you've made in Lightroom since, so save those first.
