To get your photos from Narrative into Lightroom on Windows, ship them with Ship + Edit, then drag the folder Narrative shows you into Lightroom.
Before you start, open Lightroom Classic with the catalog you want to use, and go to the Library module.
How do I ship my photos to Lightroom on Windows?
Once you've finished culling, follow these steps:
In Narrative, click Ship + Edit in the top-right corner, or press Ctrl+E.
Check which photos you're shipping, and choose Lightroom.
To have your photos arrive edited, turn on Apply AI Preset for Lightroom and choose an AI Preset.
Click the ship button and keep Narrative open while it finishes.
Check the catalog you want is open in the Library module in Lightroom Classic, then click Ready to Ship.
Narrative shows a folder. Drag the whole folder onto the open Lightroom window.
Lightroom's import window opens with your shipped photos ticked. If your photos are in subfolders, turn on Include Subfolders.
Choose how to import: Add, Copy, Move or Copy as DNG, then click Import.
Most photographers choose Add, which imports your photos from where they are now. Copy and Move put them somewhere new.
How do my ratings and AI Presets get to Lightroom?
Your ratings and labels go to Lightroom in your photos' XMP files (small sidecar files next to your photos), so keep them in the same folder as your photos.
If you shipped with more than one AI Preset, each one is a Snapshot in Lightroom Classic's Develop module. Switching or syncing a Snapshot replaces edits you've made since shipping, so save those first.
Lightroom CC works with one AI Preset at a time. Applying more than one AI Preset and learning from your corrections only work with Lightroom Classic.
What if my photos are already in Lightroom?
If your photos are already in the catalog, Lightroom won't import them again. To update their ratings or AI Preset, follow the metadata sync guide. You don't need to delete the photos or clear your database.
If nothing shows up in Lightroom, check your photos' drive is connected, then see Some or all of my images aren't showing when shipping to Lightroom.
