How do I remove an AI Preset from my images in Lightroom Classic?

Reset the AI Preset edits on your photos in Lightroom Classic, or remove an AI Preset Snapshot from a photo.

Written by Ashton Smith

Resetting a photo in Lightroom Classic removes its current edit, including the AI Preset Narrative applied. It doesn't remove its Snapshots or delete the AI Preset from Narrative.

If you only want to see the before and after, press \ in the Develop module instead. Learn how to preview before and after.

How do I reset one photo?

To reset one photo, open it in the Develop module and click Reset in the bottom-right corner. You can also press Shift+⌘R on Mac or Shift+Ctrl+R on Windows.

How do I reset several photos at once?

Important: Resetting removes the current edit, including any changes you've made since shipping. Save any edit you want to keep first.

  1. In the Library module in Lightroom Classic, select the photos you want to reset. To select every photo in the current view, press ⌘A on Mac or Ctrl+A on Windows.

  2. Right-click one of the selected photos.

  3. Choose Develop Settings → Reset.

Lightroom resets the photos to how they looked before any edits.

If you reset by mistake, press ⌘Z on Mac or Ctrl+Z on Windows straight away to undo it. You can also go to the History panel and click the step before you reset.

How do I remove an AI Preset Snapshot from a photo?

Resetting doesn't remove Snapshots, so each AI Preset you shipped with is still there. To remove one:

  1. Open the photo in the Develop module.

  2. In the Snapshots panel, select the Snapshot you want to remove.

  3. Click the minus (−) button.

That AI Preset is removed from the photo. It isn't deleted from your Narrative account, so you can still use it on other photos.

Does my AI Preset learn from these changes?

Only Personal AI Presets learn from your changes, and only from corrections you make and export in Lightroom Classic. Resetting a photo on its own doesn't teach your AI Preset anything. Core and Artist AI Presets don't learn from your changes. Learn how your Personal AI Preset improves.
