One of the most powerful features of Narrative's AI Presets is that they automatically learn and improve over time. This means the more you use your preset and make adjustments in Lightroom, the better it becomes at matching your unique editing style - without any manual retraining required!
How Automatic AI Preset Learning Works
After you've shipped your images from Narrative to Lightroom Classic with your Personal AI Preset applied, any corrections you make in Lightroom and export will be automatically picked up to retrain and improve your AI Preset:
Premium plan: Your preset automatically retrains after every 1,000 corrections
Ultra plan: Your preset automatically retrains after every 250 corrections
Once you reach the threshold for your plan, your updated AI Preset will be automatically retrained and ready to use in the app.
Step-by-Step: Getting Corrections to Count
For your Lightroom edits to count as corrections and improve your AI Preset, follow this workflow:
Step 1: Complete Your Selection in Narrative
Cull and select the photos you want to edit
Step 2: Ship to Lightroom with Your AI Preset Applied
Click "SHIP + EDIT" and ensure "Apply AI Preset for Lightroom" is toggled on, with your Personal AI Preset selected during the shipping process
Step 3: Tweak Your Images in Lightroom
Make adjustments to your images in Lightroom Classic (exposure, contrast, colors, etc.)
Step 4: Export Your Images (Critical!)
You MUST export your images from Lightroom after editing them
The export process is what triggers Narrative to count these as corrections
Without exporting, your AI Preset won't learn from your edits
Step 5: Automatic Retraining
Once you reach 1,000 corrections (Premium) or 250 corrections (Ultra), your AI Preset automatically retrains in the background
No manual action needed!
Tracking Your Corrections
You can view the number of automatic corrections by hovering over the 'i' icon in the AI Presets tab inside Narrative.
This will show you how many corrections have been recorded on your AI Preset.
Important Notes
Corrections only count when images are exported from Lightroom
Your AI Preset must be applied during shipping - if you ship without a preset, those edits won't improve your Personal AI Preset
Automatic retraining happens in the background - you don't need to manually trigger anything
Troubleshooting
My corrections aren't increasing:
Ensure you're exporting images from Lightroom after editing them
Verify your Personal AI Preset was applied during shipping
Ensure you do not export your images onto a NAS or Cloud drive.
I've hit the threshold but don't see an updated preset:
Try restarting Narrative, and waiting up to 24 hours
