There are three ways to edit your photos with AI in Narrative: with a Personal AI Preset, an Artist AI Preset or a Core AI Preset. Whichever you choose, you apply it when you ship your photos to Lightroom, then add your finishing touches and export from Lightroom.
Most photographers cull first, then edit with Ship + Edit. You don't need Lightroom to cull in Narrative.
Which AI Presets can I use on my plan?
Which AI Presets you can use depends on your plan:
Standard: Core AI Presets, and any Artist AI Presets you buy.
Premium and Ultra: everything in Standard, plus Personal AI Presets trained on your own edits.
What is a Personal AI Preset?
A Personal AI Preset learns to edit like you. Narrative trains it on at least 1,500 edited and exported photos from Lightroom Classic, ideally edited in a consistent style, so it can edit a whole shoot in your signature look. Personal AI Presets are on Premium and Ultra plans.
Your Personal AI Preset keeps learning from you:
Ship your photos from Narrative with your Personal AI Preset applied.
Make your adjustments in Lightroom Classic.
Export your photos from Lightroom Classic.
Narrative retrains your AI Preset after every 1,000 corrections on Premium, or every 250 on Ultra. It only learns from corrections made in Lightroom Classic, not Lightroom CC.
What is an Artist AI Preset?
Artist AI Presets are looks created by professional photographers, ready to use without any training. You'll see them in the AI Presets tab and when you ship. To buy one, browse the AI Preset Marketplace, where 100% of profits go to the artists.

Artist AI Presets don't change based on your corrections.
What is a Core AI Preset?
Core AI Presets are Narrative's own ready-made looks. They're included on Standard plans and above, and you don't need to train them. Choose one when you ship, and your photos arrive in Lightroom with it applied.

Should I use Lightroom Classic or Lightroom CC?
AI Presets work with both Lightroom Classic and Lightroom CC. Some things only work with Lightroom Classic:
Applying more than one AI Preset at a time and comparing them with Snapshots.
Your Personal AI Preset learning from your corrections.
Can I see edits while I cull?
