Shipping Images with an AI Preset

In order to ship your images using an AI Preset, you first need to create or open up a project of unedited RAW images in Narrative. If you're new to Narrative, you can learn more about creating a project here.

Currently, you can ship your images with an AI Preset to both Lightroom Classic and Lightroom CC, however, corrections you make in Lightroom CC can't currently be used to improve your Personal AI Preset.

When you’ve finished culling your images, click the SHIP + EDIT button in the top right of Narrative.

Choose the images you want to ship and which catalog you want them imported into. Now, on the right you can choose which AI Preset you want to apply to your images.

Click your chosen AI Preset and then hit the SHIP + PRE-EDIT button at the bottom.

Make sure to not close Narrative while your images are being edited in your chosen AI Preset.

After you’ve finished importing into Lightroom you will see your AI Preset automatically applied to your images!

Applying Edits without Shipping

If you'd like to apply an AI Preset without shipping to Lightroom, you can do this by toggling off 'Open in editing program' inside the Shipping menu, next hit the 'PRE-EDIT IMAGES' button at the bottom of the window. Your chosen AI preset will be written on to the XMP sidecar files inside your source folder.

Beta feature: Applying Multiple AI Presets

If you’ve been added as a beta user, you will be able to apply any combination of Personal, Artist, and Narrative AI Presets that you have access to when you ship with Pre-Edit to Lightroom Classic. This is a game-changer for Narrative users, as it allows you to view multiple pre-edited variations of your images at a glance.

After clicking Ship with Pre-Edit, Lightroom Classic will automatically open. Your rated images will already be selected. Simply click Import to continue.

Once your images are imported, navigate to the Develop module. In the Snapshots panel, you’ll see all the presets you selected when shipping from Narrative. You can quickly move between these snapshots to compare styles and decide what works best for each image - whether that’s a true-to-life look, a punchy and vibrant edit, or black and white - without adding complexity to your workflow.

Because you’re still working in Lightroom, you can make any additional adjustments as needed, while benefiting from a strong head start on the editing process.

Adding new AI Presets to images that have already been Edited

You can try multiple AI Presets on the same images. One thing to note – each time you want to try a different AI Presets on the same image you will need to either Ship to a different LR catalog, or remove them from the existing LR catalog first.
