Images Shipped But AI Presets Aren't Showing in Lightroom

Troubleshooting steps to take if your images shipped successfully to Lightroom with no AI Preset applied.

If your AI Presets aren't appearing in Lightroom after successfully shipping your images, work through the steps below in order. If you're receiving an "Sorry, Something Went Wrong" error, check out this article here.

1. Check that "Pre-edit images for Lightroom" is toggled on

In the shipping menu, make sure the Pre-edit images for Lightroom toggle is enabled. If this is off, Narrative won't apply your AI Preset during the ship.

2. Set Develop Settings and Metadata to 'None' when importing

When importing your images into Lightroom, set both Develop Settings and Metadata to None. If either of these is set to a preset or template, it can override or conflict with your Narrative AI Preset.

3. Check you're not using a read-only or case-sensitive drive

Narrative can't write edit data back to images stored on read-only or case-sensitive drives, which means your AI Preset will appear not to have been applied. If you're unsure whether your drive has these restrictions, read our guide on debugging your HDD/SSD here.

4. Free up storage space on your drive

Narrative needs available disk space to save edits to your images. If your drive is full or nearly full, this can silently prevent AI Presets from applying. We recommend having at least 1 GB of free space available before shipping.

5. Avoid using an SD card as your source drive

If your source folder is stored on an SD card, this can cause issues with edits being written correctly. Move your images to an internal drive or a reliable external HDD/SSD and try again.

💡 Still not showing?

AI Presets can take a moment to load after shipping. Give it some time, especially on larger shoots.
