You can improve a Personal AI Preset in two ways. It learns automatically from the corrections you make in Lightroom Classic, and you can add more edited photos to it at any time.
This article is about Personal AI Presets, the ones trained on your own edits. You can't add photos to Core or Artist AI Presets.
How does my AI Preset learn from my corrections?
Your Personal AI Preset learns from the changes you make in Lightroom Classic after you ship.
Ship your photos from Narrative to Lightroom Classic with your Personal AI Preset applied.
Make any corrections you want in Lightroom Classic.
Export your corrected photos.
Narrative uses your corrections to retrain your AI Preset after every 1,000 corrections on the Premium plan, or every 250 corrections on the Ultra plan. You don't need to do anything else. To see how many corrections you've made, hover over the i icon on the AI Presets screen.
How do I add more photos to my AI Preset?
If you have more edited photos in other Lightroom Classic catalogs, you can add them to your AI Preset. First, connect any drives with those catalogs and their RAW files or Smart Previews.
Click AI Presets on the left of the Projects screen.
Right-click your Personal AI Preset and choose Modify.
Click Add in the top-left corner.
You can also click your AI Preset, click Modify AI Preset in the top-right corner, then click Add.
You'll see the catalogs already in your AI Preset, plus any new catalogs Narrative found. Select the catalogs you want to add.
Use the filters on the right to choose which photos to include. You can choose photos by rating, all Edited photos, or only Edited + Exported photos. A rating on its own doesn't make an unedited photo count.
Check your selection, then click Modify AI Preset in the bottom-right corner.
Narrative starts retraining your AI Preset with the new photos.
When can I close Narrative?
Keep Narrative open while it analyzes, prepares and uploads your photos.
Once uploading has finished and the status changes to Training, you can close Narrative. Training carries on in the cloud, and we'll email you when your updated AI Preset is ready.
What do Starter, Standard and Master mean?
When you modify your AI Preset, Narrative shows its grade and how many more photos you need for the next one, for example "Add 4,500 more for a Master AI Preset". The grade shows how many edited photos your AI Preset has learned from:
Starter: 1,500 photos.
Standard: 6,000 photos.
Master: 15,000 photos.
More photos help your AI Preset match your style, as long as they're edited consistently. A higher grade doesn't mean every edit will be perfect.
