The sort order sets the order of your photos in the filmstrip and grid. You can change it at any time. Changing the sort order doesn't rate, reject or delete any photos.
What sort orders does Narrative have?
Narrative has four sort orders:
Scene rank: the strongest photos in each Scene first, based on First Pass assessments.
Capture time: oldest to newest.
Capture time (reverse): newest to oldest.
Filename: in order of file name, with numbers in number order.
Scene rank is part of Advanced AI Culling, on Standard, Premium and Ultra plans.
How do I change the sort order?
The sort order buttons are in the toolbar, to the right of the view buttons. Click a button to sort by it. Hover over a button to see which sort order it is.
By default, only Scene rank and Capture time show in the toolbar.
How do I add more sort orders to the toolbar?
Click the three-dot Sort Options button next to the sort order buttons.
Check Capture time (reverse), Filename, or both.
Click a sort order button in the toolbar to use it.
Narrative switches to a sort order as soon as you check it. At least one sort order must stay checked. Scene rank and the capture time options show a loading icon until Narrative has finished processing your project.
How do I set the default sort order for new projects?
To choose the sort order new projects open with, go to Preferences → Import and choose Scene Rank, Capture Time or Filename under Sort order.
Can I put my photos in my own order?
Narrative doesn't have a custom sort order, so you can't drag photos into your own order. Use one of the four sort orders instead.
