Why are there missing catalogs or images on the AI Preset analysing screen?

Troubleshooting steps you can take if your catalogs or images are missing while training an Automatic AI Preset.

Updated this week

On the AI Preset analysing screen, some of your catalogs might not have been detected, or show fewer images than you expected.

Automatic AI Preset creation considers the following criteria when counting your images:

  • Edited Raw Image Files: Only raw image files that have been both edited and exported are counted.

  • Exclusion of Black and White Images: Black and white images are not currently counted.

  • Exclusion of Non-Raw Formats: JPEG, PNG, and other non-raw image files are not counted.

  • Requirements for Image Counting: The original raw files must be available and correctly linked to the Lightroom catalog, or the Lightroom catalog must have Smart Previews created.

If your images meet the criteria outlined above, follow these steps to troubleshoot:

  1. Ensure that any external devices storing your raw files and/or Lightroom catalogs are properly connected to your computer.

  2. Confirm that your raw files are correctly linked to your Lightroom catalog.

  3. Try to create an AI Preset again.
