When shipping your images from Narrative to Lightroom Classic, you have the option to create a brand new Lightroom catalog directly within the shipping window. Follow the steps and tips below to ensure the process goes smoothly:
Avoid Special Characters:
When naming your new catalog, make sure to avoid using special characters such as:
/ (slashes), - (hyphens), _ (underscores), or any other non-alphanumeric symbols.
Stick to plain letters and numbers to ensure your catalog is successfully created.
Select a Secure Location:
Select a reliable and accessible location on your SSD or HDD to store the catalog. We recommend saving it somewhere easy to find and well-organized for your workflow.
Avoid Naming the Same as Other Catalogs:
If you use the same name and location as an existing catalog, Narrative will not allow it to be created and it will fail. Make sure the name is unique for the selected folder.
How to Create a New Catalog
In the shipping window, click the Catalog dropdown.
Select "Create a new catalog" from the list.
Enter a name that follows the naming guidelines above.
Choose the location where you'd like to save the new catalog.
Click SHIP to create the catalog and ship your images into Lightroom.
Narrative will automatically generate a new folder in your chosen location using the catalog name. Inside that folder, your new Lightroom Classic catalog will be created and ready to go.
