Your photos stay on your computer. Narrative culls and assesses them locally, and nothing is uploaded unless you use a feature that needs it.
When are photos uploaded?

Do you train AI on my photos?
Not unless you opt in to Help improve Narrative. It's completely optional, and you don't need it to use Narrative.
Previews shared this way are never shared with other Narrative users.
Turn Help improve Narrative on or off
You'll be asked when you first sign in. To change your choice later:
Open Preferences in Narrative.
Go to the General tab.
Turn Help improve Narrative on or off.
What about Personal AI Presets?
Training a Personal AI Preset is separate, so the Help improve Narrative setting doesn't affect it.
Your training images, edit data and Personal AI Presets are private to you. Other Narrative users can't see or use them. Learn more about how we use your edit data.
