On the Style builder screen some of your folders or collections might show fewer images than you expected, or none at all.

The Style Builder considers the following criteria when counting your images:

  • Edited Raw Image Files: The Style Builder only counts raw image files that have been edited, or both edited and exported, depending on the Upload settings toggle located on the right-hand panel.

  • Exclusion of Black and White Images: Black and white images are not currently counted by the Style Builder.

  • Exclusion of Non-Raw Formats: JPEG, PNG, and other non-raw image files are not counted by the Style Builder.

  • Requirements for Image Counting: To count an image, the Style Builder requires access to either the original raw file or a Lightroom Smart Preview.

If your images meet the criteria outlined above, follow these steps to troubleshoot:

  1. Ensure that any external devices storing your raw files are properly connected to your computer.

  2. Confirm that your raw files are correctly linked to your Lightroom catalog.

  3. Rescan the catalog in the Style builder screen by clicking the info dot, then ‘Rescan catalog’
