Before you update macOS, check that Publish, your Mac and your other photography software all work with the macOS version you want to install.
Which macOS version does Publish need?
Publish needs macOS 10.13 (High Sierra) or later. Publish is only available on Mac.
What should I check before I update?
Before you update, follow these steps.
Click the Apple menu, then click About This Mac to see your Mac model and macOS version.
Check Apple's list to see if your Mac works with the version you want.
Check that your photo editor, plugins and other equipment work with the new version.
Back up your files and save your work.
Updates can take a while and your Mac may restart a few times, so update when you don't need your Mac for a bit.
