Add animation to your Publish post

Make the photos in your Publish post fade or slide in as visitors scroll, at a slow, medium or fast speed.

Written by Ashton Smith

Animation changes how the photos in your Publish post load as visitors scroll. Your photos can fade in, slide in, or both, at a fast, medium or slow speed to suit your style.

Note: Animation only works when you publish to WordPress with the Narrative Publisher plugin.

Which animations can I use in Publish?

Publish has three animations. Here's how each one looks.

Fade In

With Fade In, your photos fade in as the page scrolls, instead of just appearing.

Slide In

With Slide In, your photos slide in as the page scrolls, instead of just appearing.

Fade In and Slide In

With Fade In and Slide In, your photos fade in and slide in together as the page scrolls.

How do I add animation to my post?

You turn on animation in the Publish panel for your post.

  1. Open your post's Publish panel and turn on Animation.

  2. Choose the animation and the speed: Fast Speed, Medium Speed or Slow Speed.

  3. Publish your post, or update it if it's already live.

Once your post is live, open it on your website and scroll down to see the animation.
