The gallery panel in Publish shows the photos in your post's source folder, the folder of photos you chose for the post. You can add any photo in the gallery panel to your post.
How do I add photos from the gallery panel?
To add a photo to your post, drag it from the gallery panel into your post, or click it. Once a photo is in your post, it's grayed out in the gallery panel.
Photos that aren't grayed out haven't been used in this post yet.
You can add each photo to a post only once. If you try to add a grayed-out photo again, Publish shows You cannot add the same image twice.
To see more options for a photo, right-click it in the gallery panel. You can choose Add to Post, Hide or Show in Finder. To preview a photo, select it and press Space.
What are the gallery filter options?
The filter button in the bottom right of the gallery panel opens the options for your gallery.
How do I sort the photos?
To choose how photos are sorted in the gallery panel, open the filter options and choose Title, Creation Date or Modified Date, then choose the order, for example Oldest to Newest.
How do I filter by star rating or color label?
To show only some photos in the gallery panel, open the filter options and click a star rating or a color label. To remove your filters, click Clear Filters.
How do I split used photos from unused ones?
To split the photos you've used from the ones you haven't, open the filter options and turn on Split Used Images. The photos already in your post move to the bottom of the gallery panel.
How do I hide photos?
To hide a photo from the gallery panel, select it and press H. You can also press Delete and click Hide the Image. Hiding a photo doesn't delete it from your computer.
To see your hidden photos, open the filter options and turn on Show Hidden Images. Hidden photos show at the bottom of the gallery panel.
How do I add new photos automatically?
To add new photos to your post automatically, open the filter options and turn on Auto Add New Images. Each time a new photo is added to the post's source folder, Publish adds it to the bottom of your post.
What does the Folder button do?
The Folder button in the toolbar has options for the post's source folder, the folder of photos that shows in the gallery panel:
Show in Finder: opens the source folder in Finder.
Change Folder Location: lets you choose a different source folder. Publish then imports the photos from the new folder.
Reset Cache: clears the copies of this post's photos that Publish has saved, then restarts Publish. Your original photos aren't changed. Only use it if Support asks you to.
