When you add a Publish post to your website, some WordPress themes and Squarespace blog pages don't pick up its preview text (the short summary that shows on your blog page) or its featured image. If that happens, add them yourself on your website.
Why does my blog page show "Your Narrative post will appear here, click to see it live. For any issues click here"?
Some WordPress themes don't pick up the preview text for Publish posts, and show "Your Narrative post will appear here, click to see it live. For any issues click here" on your blog page instead, like the example below. To show your own text, add the preview text yourself.
How do I add preview text in the WordPress Classic Editor?
In the Classic Editor, you can change the text in your post, or add an excerpt.
To change the text in your post:
Open the post you want to edit.
Click the text editor.
Select the text highlighted in the image below, and delete it.
Where the text was, paste the preview text you want to show.
Note: If you've already shared the post on Facebook, Facebook needs to read the page again to show the new text. Use Facebook's Sharing Debugger to ask it to.
To add an excerpt:
Open the post you want to change.
Click Screen Options in the top right.
Find Excerpt and check it.
Scroll down to the Excerpt box below your post.
Type the text you want to show as the summary.
Publish or update your post in WordPress.
Your blog page now shows your excerpt as the preview text.
How do I add preview text in the WordPress block editor?
To add preview text in the block editor (Gutenberg), follow these steps:
Open the post you want to change.
In the panel on the right, open Excerpt.
Type the text you want to show as the summary.
Publish or update your post in WordPress.

To add preview text in Squarespace, follow these steps:
Add your post to your blog.

Type your preview text in the Excerpt box.
Click Save.
Why is there a blank space or no featured image on my blog page?
If your blog page shows a blank space between your post's title and photos, or no featured image, like the examples below, your theme probably isn't picking up your post's preview image. To show one, add a featured image yourself.

Open the post you want to edit.

Save your changes and refresh the post.
Your post now shows your featured image on your blog page.
