Our Auto-Publish service uses a protocol called XMLRPC to post to your Wordpress website.  XMLRPC is automatically enabled on all Wordpress websites running Wordpress 3.5 and later.

Please follow the steps below to troubleshoot why Narrative is failing to access your Wordpress account.

1. Request your WordPress host to enable RPC and make Narrative's IP address available

  1. Contact the support team for your WordPress web host
  2. Send them the following message

    "Hi Support

I am using a 3rd party service called Narrative to design image layouts for my blog. Narrative uses XMLRPC to publish directly to my Wordpress account. Can you please ensure that XMLRPC is enabled on my WordPress website and that Narrative's IP address is white-listed by your services.

Their IP address is 52.37.51.100 and their FQDN is service.getnarrativeapp.com.

Please contact Narrative Support for any further details - [email protected]

    Thanks,
    [your name]"

2. Ensure you are not using any security plugins that restrict access from external connections.

Plugins such as 'All-4-One Security Plugin' restrict access via XMLRPC. Please either disable these plugins or post manually to your Wordpress account.

Post Manually

Until your WordPress host has responded, Narrative allows you to publish your post manually. See this article below to learn how to do post manually.

For any other issues please don't hesitate to contact our support team.
