How Much Space Do the Gallery Thumbnails And Layout Previews Take Up

Narrative Publish creates a cache for gallery thumbnails and layout previews on your local hard drive.

The file sizes are approximately 200-400 KB for each layout preview per image and 5-10 KB for each gallery thumbnail per image. For a gallery of 500 images this will take up approximately 150 MB on average.

🗑 If you want to create more space you can remove the Loc folder which contains the cached images.

By doing this, Narrative Publish will need to have access to the original images if you want to view a blog post. If you have the images located on an external hard drive, you are going to have to connect it to your device before in order to see the blog post images inside the app

In order to find the Loc Folder, follow the steps below:

  1. Open a spotlight search by pressing command+spacebar

  2. Paste the following path

    ~/Library/Containers/com.softwareltd.narrative/Data/Library/Application support/Narrative/loc

  3. Press "Enter" to open the folder

  4. Once you see the Loc folder, right click on it > Click "Move to Trash" to delete all the cached images

🗃 Once you removed your cached images, if you'd like to do Backups of your files and store them on a cloud sourced folder instead, take a look at the article here which will guide you how to do this.
